Individual Therapy

Asking for help can be challenging, but it is often the initial step towards attaining our interpersonal goals. The primary objectives of seeking therapy are frequently centered on effecting change, gaining insight, or simply seeking unbiased and non-judgmental support. The individual therapy process is a collaborative experience between the therapist and the client. We work together to identify the goals for treatment and any barriers that may interfere with meeting those goals. As a Marriage and Family therapist, my approach often focuses on how the family system and interpersonal relationships impact an individual’s perspective and behavior, which we explore during our sessions. These sessions employ talk therapy, utilizing a client-centered therapeutic approach.

Child and Adolescent Therapy

This is a form of therapy that helps children and adolescents to express and process their feelings, thoughts, and experiences through play and other creative activities. It is a safe and supportive environment where children can explore and resolve emotional or behavioral difficulties that may be affecting their daily lives. In my practice I use a variety of techniques, such as art, storytelling, role-playing, and games, to engage with the child and help them communicate their inner world. Child therapy can be effective in addressing a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral problems, and social difficulties. It is tailored to the unique needs and developmental stage of each child, and typically involves regular therapy sessions and involvement of the parent or caregiver. Child and adolescent therapy sessions are offered in person and virtual.

Parent Support and Family Therapy

I have long been dedicated to working with children and adolescents, aspiring to guide them towards becoming healthy and well-adjusted adults. However, I have discovered through my practice that the most efficacious way to support youths is by providing parents with the tools and strategies they require to reconnect with their children and aid them in thriving. In doing so, I not only offer support to parents in overcoming personal barriers, but also equip them with knowledge and skills. My primary focus, therefore, is on parent support and education, where I aim to discuss the impact of Intergenerational trauma while educating parents on the principles of Intentional Parenting.
